Thought you might look on this album a bit more fondly, sach, seeing as it's actually taking the piss out of the genre you hate so much. Granted, unlike most Tull albums, it is actually a prog album but I would have thought its tongue-in-cheek parodic approach would appeal to you somewhat.

the thing about this album being a parody, though, is that that doesn't really mean anything because you'd never actually know that unless it was told to you. it doesn't enhance the experience in any manner what-so-ever.

It's pretty obvious that Anderson's whole approach to this is tongue in cheek, not quite as obvious as on A Passion Play granted, but still obvious.
