Yeah. I wouldn't say ruin it (most of the time) but he kinda becomes a distraction and takes away from the instrumentation.

I was exaggerating quite a bit when I said the instrumental version is terrible, but at the same time any album released as an instrumental that was orignally released with vocals (this, PtH's Fortress, that BTBAM album) is never EVER going to appeal to me.

I agree with you on PTH but I just find the vocals annoying on this album.
However the rerecorded vocals they did for Icarus Lives aren't half bad

Yeah the vocals seem to be the biggest issue with this album so I can definitely understand people preferring the instrumental version.
