Damn that's cool af.
When I saw them live at a festival the dude looked so cool, black shades and a leather jacket with the crowd in the palm of his hands.
When they played Rooster I nearly cried, the sun came out just as the chorus hit. As if Layne was there man, was amazing.

Yeah he's certainly a cool mofo. Check out Comes With the Fall sometime. It's not great, Duvall definitely is not as strong a songwriter as Cantrell, but there's a lot to like about that band. It sometimes pisses me off how much hate he gets from Staley fans. I mean, Cantrell and crew only restarted AiC because they realised Duvall was a pretty special unique musician who could fill Layne's but wear his own too.
On the other hand the new guy in STP sounds generic as fuck.

I will do dude, thanks for the rec!
Yeah a lot of fans are just bitter about William tbh, ironic really cos even when Layne was in the band Cantrell wrote most of the music anyway.
Its always been Jerry's band really.

It's always been Jerry's band no doubt about that. Which is why I was never bitter about them replacing Layne. Besides, William is incredible on this record. The first time I heard A Looking In View, I couldn't believe it. Shit was so heavy, but the standout track on this for me is When The Sun Rose Again. That song just gets under my skin like only the best AiC songs can.

Duvall is freakin awesome. The vocal chemistry he has with Jerry is unparalleled in modern hard rock I think.

I saw 'em live like 10 years in NY and it was pretty crazy how much he sounded like Layne.

Layne made the material mean anything, he was the band’s heart and soul - this stuff is perfunctory, honestly nu-AIC are no better than Cantrell’s solo stuff, actually they’re slightly inferior most of the time

Layne was a fantastic singer, but Jerry's the heart of the band no matter what incarnation they go through
