This is an excellent album but it does sound a little samey in places, particularly if you're new to

the band. If you want some seismic activity, hit up Oceanic. That's also got Isis' most powerful

songs on it in "Carry" and "Weight," the latter of which only has female vocals. Hopefully you'll

warm up to this because it's a great discography, if perhaps not for everyone.

The vocals are kinda monotone and dullish accept when he uses the devil voice which sounds like every other devil voice in metal.

have you considered killing yourself?

The atmosphere on here is so unique. Last three songs, especially the closer are my favorite. First

two tracks also rules.

The closer certainly ranks up there with the best things they've done.

This band's discography is perfect.

Hard to choose which album you want to play at times though.

It took a few listens on Oceanic, tried Panopticon next, which took 2 listens.

And the albums still blow my mind.

well technically I started listening to them because one of my buddies dragged me to their show when they came around. I had never heard of them but I bought a couple of their albums.

listened for a while but never fully appreciated them. came back to them a few times and felt the same. flash forward years later, I'm cleaning out my cds and I collect a pile of stuff I haven't heard forever that I'm about to get rid of, to listen to in case I love it. put oceanic in and was immediately like "holy shit why haven't I been listening to this"

Oceanic was a tough listen at first, but it quickly became one of my favorite albums I found on sputnik.

Definitely, I wouldn't have found this band without sputnik.

I think I found this band when someone mentioned it on a Neurosis review comment.

Tough indeed, but not as tough as albums like Through Silver In Blood for me.
