I love how if I didn't know he was releasing a new album and this album was unlabeled and I went into it blind, I'd still know exactly who it was. He has such a distinct style

Womb is definitely not boring. Lots of little tuning changes and shifts in drum/cymbal patterns. Gets more aggressive as it progresses. Kinda comes full circle by the end. That and Nightfall are my two favs.

If you could point me in the direction of some atmo bm from 2016 that is better, I would genuinely appreciate it, because I'm digging Autumn hard.

The atmosphere-ish ones I've at least kinda liked this year are basically: Oranssi Pazuzu, Fyrnask, Book of Sand, Arizmenda, selvə, Cairiss, Vukari, Forteresse. I'm really behind on my black metal this year tho :3
|
| |
Autumn sounds way more generic than this album, at least this one has more enjoyable moments.
