Enroute to being influnced by One Direction.

I'd like to see them go further down the Sempiternal route, the lack of heaviness never bothered me at all
Then again I haven't heard their new songs

I'd like to see a cross path between this and the melodic side of sempiternal

I don't think Oli likes screaming anymore, especially now that he can sing. I only ask about Jordan because people have said he helps out live, idk anymore beyond that. I think the smart thing to do would be to maintain the heaviness, I didn't mind Drown though.

"I think the smart thing to do would be to maintain the heaviness"
Ehh that kinda depends on if they're trying to go for indie cred or to keep that certain sect of their fanbase.

I know Fish does the melodic backing, but not sure about screams though. Jona had a fantastic scream used for backing in the Theres' A Hell... days that was so good it put Oli's parts to shame.

Jona was a decent guitarist aswell
I find the guitar on sempiternal lacking for the most part

Jesus Chelsea Smile is such a jam, always loved that song. Rest of the album just as good? I listened to it once and remember switching off 30 mins in.

Tbh i say just listen to it fully once and then decide on your rating, it doesnt require a lot of attention to take in
And yeah if you like chelsea smile then i can see you liking at least a few of the other songs

Oh derp, keeping calling it that because it reminds me of Ichi the Killer. Edited.

once again someone fails to realize that music is subjective

"Album's bad, mkay?"
No ur wrong lol

Actually I think that music also has some kind of objectivity to it. Yes, the subjective factor is probably heavier but there are still aspects that can make you rate an album objectively to a certain degree.
Big lol @ 4.5 or even 5.0 for this album. U guys like Asking Alexandria?

@ Mort
As far as my Hours rating goes, I've even commented on the review that it has a fanboy-nostalgia bonus for me. Still is a 4 at least, probably 4.5, just as Casually. I've listened to Suicide Season as well when I was younger. But albeit theoretically having the nostalgia bonus too, in contrast to the FFAF albums, when growing older you notice how garbage this scene shit was.

Dude i listened to this for the first time years ago when it came out, this is basically my nostalgia album
Im not claiming its an objective 5 holy grail of music

I also did - a lot - and when getting older started to realise that it's shit, with exception for some sections here and there. It's maybe a 3.5 with fanboy bonus added but 5...a classic...the reason I gave Hours a 5 is that FFAF really made the Post-Hardcore scene to what it is/was back then with their first 2 LP's. Suicide Season just can't be "classic". That hurts. ='( Basically all the scene shit sputnik is hating on nowadays started with BMTH.
