Extremely disturbing in nature, but is undoubtedly Swans' best work. The soundscapes and textures on this album make it feel almost unreal that Gira was able to put this together in under a year. A masterpiece from the mind of a madman.

Everyone knows that you are fucked up. And everyone knows that I am fucked up. But, does everyone know that you are more fucked up than me? Well, I know that. And you know that. But our purpose is to tell everyone that.

I enjoy this but there are moments where I wonder if they really have any idea what they're doing. For example the ridiculous attempt at vibrato on YRP. Get that off of there.

Such a crushing rollercoaster. Both discs feel like full journeys in themselves.

Animus is so depressingly sad with the gentle instrumentation and Gira crooning softly after over an hour of heavy layered noise in all sorts of forms, while Surrogate Drone is a fitting accompaniment to my mind being dead and drained after two and a half overwhelming hours.

Yooo, what the fuck is this? It is so terrifying. Listening to this literally makes my breathing harder and my heart beats much faster. Yet, I don't want to go away from the atmosphere it created.

Pls send help.

One of the best albums ever made. I Was a Prisoner in Your Skull lets you know what you're getting yourself into right from the start of the record.
