I do, and they are. I always found BwP to be enormously overrated, but it grew on me ALOT (though I still kinda hate Dirge for November).

Wow, i really wish i could see what you guys do in this...but with porcelain heart being on here i don't know how you could LOVEEEE this album, all the other songs have some appeal and i could see others getting into it though not me, but Porcelain Heart could be considered Opeth jumping the Death Metal shark, it just proves they aren't that kinda band anymore...

Possibly 4, the only albums i've played constantly this year is Swan Songs and the new Blacklisted album. I don't think I've even listened to Blackwater Park as a whole since the first couple times I put it on.

Seriously, this album is kind of hit and miss. The Lotus Eater, Coil, Hessian Peel are great songs, especially Lotus Eater. Heir Apparent is good, but the rest suck. That is pretty much how it goes and with the exception of Lotus Eater and Coil, this album looses flare the more you listen to it. At first I had it a 4, and now its kind of a 3.3-3.4

I don't know man, I prefer the second half of the album. I honestly think, however, that my love for this album has a lot to do with the fact that I was only (really) listening to Opeth for about 4 or 5 months before this came out. I'm not so accustomed to/jaded by the flow and structure of their songs. Something along those lines. I prefer the softer parts of this album, which many consider boring, to the heavier parts of most of MAYH and BwP. This Message Edited On 09.03.08

I've always loved Opeth softer parts, especially when with an electric guitar present instead of acoustic.



The only time I've found soft parts boring is in a few of the songs in Damnation.
