I don't give a crap about his talent tbh. All he does is noodling, noodling and more noodling.
He doesn't noodle as much as some other virtuosos like Joe Satriani. I mean if you look hard enough there's quite a few examples where Petrucci actually comes up with a well composed solo and plays with a bit of emotion. See the guitar solos in The Best of Times (from BC&SL) or Goodnight Kiss (from 6 Degrees) for example.
