XYU is the shit

It certainly is. I am a big fan of both 9-minute epics on this album. Porcelina of the Vast Oceans is magnificent.

Remember the opening to Fri. night videos, awesome, I taped all the damn things, Culture Club was on constant rotation, as was Metal Health, and ROck you like a Hurricane, Looks that Kill was on a lot too

This album is half Black Sabbath worship half dream pop. The latter drags it down.

by starlight is a skip for me, sorry brendan

the last three or four songs on both discs are crap, except for "Porcelina Of The Vast Oceans" which is a gem
|
| |
yawn
|
| |
objectively the best song here is probably "thru the eyes of ruby"
there's not a flaw to be found in that one

The production on here is top notch...
|

you mean the 100 guitar tracks Corgan did for each song

Thru The Eyes Of Ruby is completely without flaw agreed
Appreciating disc 2 on here a lot more lately. It's such a grab bag of insane music. You've got crunchy riffs (Bodies, Boys Fear To Tread), some of their best acoustic material (33, Arms Of Sleep, Stumbleine) and the most insane songs they ever wrote (Tales Of A Scorched Earth, XYU)

As much as corgan's voice irritates me, I can't deny the greatness of this and SD
