It is actually extremely common, especially for commercial singles. And yeah probs always label-mandated for every band that does that.

Helmet did this to an even weirder degree on In The Meantime, with Albini only recording the title track and someone else doing the rest. When the T/t was remixed by Andy Wallace made Albini crack the shits and demand Wallace not be allowed to do the same for in utero lmao

I arrived
at the end of the album and it is, in fact, still a 5 (in my eyes at least)
If i could do increments I’d probably give it a 4.8
Beautiful sound, brilliantly collaborative, oozes Deftones character with a slight twist
Naysayers be darned, this is a magnificent album
