"what riffs did Dustie write? I recall Dan writes a lot of riffs right? but it's mostly Paul?"
tried to do some research into this the other day, only thing i could find at least on this album that was concretely written by dustie was the opening riff(s) of decade of statues.
which is like, a top 5 moment in their entire discog ):
dan wrote like a whole article on the making of this album and it seemed to me its a mostly dan/paul creation with the others throwing in their own ideas at various points... with dan easily seeming to have written more guitar parts than dustie.

Without stating anything concrete, you can hear Dustie’s influence in BTBAM by listening to Glass Casket. Ergo I don’t know how much he writes now. I could see more on their old work.
Also…. RIP Glass Casket

yeah I was under the impression dustie wrote some of the harder (i.e. not totally proggy) elements on the great misdirect. if so I wouldn't see he's completely replaceable but I'm sure they won't hire some scrub whoever it ends up being

Haha listened again yesterday most of this I really like. As far as harsh vox goes he’s my least favorite part he’s so boring to me.
Informal Gluttony is a fucking BANGER.

still a 5!!!!!!!!!! admittedly its easy to mock this bands sound with the funky genre changes as a wannabe Mr. Bungle or Pink Floyd, but this rules so

And I love how it transitions into some bluesy Pink Floyd shit directly after that

So I gave this the absolute final relisten in my life, intending to never come back to it ever again. Let me ask you this: why the Jesus dick in Christ shit does an album this flashy with technical diarrhea have a production that makes the percussion sound like a cheap drum machine?

Never had a problem with the production tbh, it sounds just fine for me. Same with the wank, because I feel as though the songwriting facilitates the noodling nicely
If you wanna hear true technical diarrhea, check out Brain Drill
