"Ladies and gentlemen, have you ever heard of this band called Johnny Boof? Yeah, Johnny Boof, not Johnny Booth, no no no, we're not talking about those serious Booths, we're talking about the Boofs, the wild ones!
I mean, who even comes up with a name like Johnny Boof? It's like they couldn't decide if they wanted to be a rock band or a sound effect from a cartoon. Boof! I half expect to see a bunch of musicians jumping around on stage in giant dog costumes.
And what's the deal with their music? It's like they took every genre of music, put it in a blender, hit the 'liquefy' button, and just went with whatever came out. One minute you're headbanging to some heavy metal riff, and the next you're twirling around like you're in a disco. I don't know whether to headbang or do the hustle!
But you know what's really confusing? Their fashion sense. I mean, these guys dress like they raided a thrift store during a tornado. It's like they're trying to start a new trend called 'clashing chic.' Plaid pants, neon shirts, and mismatched socks – it's like a fashion disaster that somehow works for them.
And let's not forget their lyrics. I've listened to their songs, and I'm still not sure if they're singing about love, heartbreak, or ordering takeout. It's like a game of musical Mad Libs – fill in the blanks with whatever emotion you want! 'I was feeling so [adjective], but then you [verb]ed my [noun]...'
And speaking of their fans, the Boofers, or whatever they call themselves – these folks are dedicated. I mean, they show up to concerts dressed like they just rolled out of bed, put on their entire wardrobe, and then did a few laps around a wind tunnel. It's like they're in a competition to see who can wear the most clothes on a 90-degree day.
But you know what? Despite all the confusion, the chaos, and the questionable fashion choices, there's something endearing about Johnny Boof. Maybe it's the fact that they just don't give a boof about what anyone thinks. They're out there, doing their thing, mixing up genres, clashing patterns, and making us scratch our heads in musical bewilderment.
So, the next time you're in the mood for a musical rollercoaster ride with a side of fashion roulette, give Johnny Boof a listen. And hey, even if you can't make heads or tails of their music, just remember – it's all part of the boof-tastic experience!"

"This thread reminds me of a fucking attack attack thread. If you don't like it, piss off. Listen if needed"
This is honestly just as bad as telling people they're idiots for liking this music too. Look EVERYONE is allowed their opinion to like or dislike an album. If everyone loved and jerked off to this album would that really be great to not have difference in opinions to create discussion? You're telling me yourself you don't go into threads and discuss not liking an album? I guess we can only discuss music if we like it based on this comment.
I get the discourse has been annoying because instead of criticism aimed at the album/music, some users like Gyro/Demon (Johnny to some extent but for the most part I'd wager he's meming) with their takes didn't really focus on criticizing the music but rather people who liked it. It felt like direct attacks and was unwarranted! There's nothing wrong with liking or disliking this but keep the music discussions to the music and stop attacking people for their opinion. I used to be like this on sput ages ago and I realized how much of an ass it just made me look like. Again, discussion and remaining civil is fine and I'm all for it. I love it and as long as it's respectful conversation, there's no reason to get up in arms about it. This shit really needs to stop being such a problem on this site.
I had to get it out there because maybe I'm naive but instead of seeing the site grow I see the same disgusting levels of stagnation. I've been on the site since 2010 and I'll admit I was part of that very same issue but it's disappointing to see it still run rampant

I do have regrets
If I’d known my comments would’ve provoked such reactions I’d have posted them waaaaaay earlier
| | | Oh yeah, won't pretend it doesn't frustrate me to see albums like this so disproportionately hyped here, but if you get your kicks from this, then good for you. Target-audience ad homs are fun and I drop em all the time, but that's creating an index to comment on the album - m'bad if any of yall have felt individually attacked itt
(this is re. general core posting - if i've ever dragged you individually then you have probably do shit taste and deserve it and i am not sorry xo)

Nah it is still better than it was

I mean I'm not gonna lie, I find most modern metalcore kinda boring, but if some people get fun and love the sound, good for them. I just wish we could go back more to the technical side of metalcore , but that is just how I feel.

I know I was but I also dunked on others. My problem was I partook in it as well and looking back I find my behavior pretty immature. Granted, as Anarchist has said, I have noticed the site has been better as of late but there's still moments. I mean the entire Sleep token thread is a fucking disaster both ways lol

I’m a big fan of a lot of 90’s and 00’s metalcore. A lot of newer stuff doesn’t scratch the itch the same way, so i end up checking RYM charts for older shit

I prefer older metalcore for sure, although I think some like these guys, frontierer, sectioned etc are doing a good job when it comes to newer metalcore. I would put Seizures up there but I sadly didn't enjoy their last album much.
| | | Definitely agreed about Frontierer and Sectioned (Annihilated being my favorite core-related album and one of my favorites in general). There’s still some great albums in recent years, for sure.
I liked this more than their last, but i never feel a desire to revisit it 😕
