Black Rose is lacking in structure agreed which is why it's one of the two weaker tracks on here. Still ranks up there with the best songs in their discography though. The quality of the individual parts make up for the song's lack of cohesion.

JT said it. I've always thought the cohesion problem would be solved if they just separated the track in parts, there are like 3-4 different themes in the song that run great, but the transitions between them are awkward

BRI is fucking amazing. The acoustic sections are so haunting and beautiful.
This was the first, and really the only Opeth album alongside Still Life where my reaction upon listening to it for the first time was mind blowing. I was impressed with the rest of course, but this album was a musical life changer for me.
