After spinning this multiple times over the weekend I come to the conclusion that this thing slaps hard as fuck. Hell its fucking beautiful at places, really don't get how some of you call this boring.

Now that the wave of comments has somehow resided, can anyone tell me where I have heard the music from ''Saviour (Interlude)'' before?

Strong enough connect on my first playthrough, and I think I’ll be spinning this through the week and see if it lands harder. Good shit tho from Kendrick.

Whereas Damn displayed immediate faults and highlights, this album is a true grower in every sense of the word. What a beautiful piece of work

I'm hoping it grows on me a bit cuz its just a bit underwhelming to me atm. Realistically Kendrick isn't going to release hit album back to back to back, one is gonna be a miss to me. I appreciate the stories he spins in this album, he's still good a following themes, looping narritives, and presenting them in interesting ways but the songs themselves are just kinda not hitting me right on. It's not bad, it's not boring, it's just a bit different which I guess I appreciate.

This is definitely a grower. There are still some songs I don’t like but the ones I was “meh” on (Rich Spirit, Crown, Die Hard) have grown on me a lot

Rich spirit and die hard were some of my initial highlights actually.i also liked united in grief, worldwide steppers, father time, we cry just most of part one looking at it now. Kendrick is really good at tying all the songs together and revisiting issues in the later half of the album. It feels like a complete package and well thought out but I wouldn't expect different from him now. It'd be more surprising if he just made a bunch of loosies at this point

Yepp this is where I sit right now. I really appreciate Kendrick's rapping and the themes he hits on here, dude is prob my fave rapper ever so no surprise... but the bulk of these songs just don't have a leg to stand on besides that imo particularly the second disc

Most these beats are weak yup. Kendrick Is great like always but the production is pretty subpar Father time,n95,united in grief, worldwide steppers. Another 2 tracks or so on the back half is solid. I'll bump to a 3. But for the most part there's to much weirdo production here.
