the key is to be cool and listen to everything so each is just as good as the last

wish I found this place earlier, because although I still have 'classics' going back 10+ years (some more like 20, lol) the sheer volume and scope of the shit I've discovered in a relatively short space of time here, is completely unmatched.

...just realised I'm a month shy of 5 years here now, so not exactly an insignificant period of time. Point still stands though.

This is the period of time I have considered release x/y a classic, nothing to do with when something was released (and not including things which have fallen since).

"I'll never forget the first moment I listened to Jane Doe on my HD 201s connected to my computer having no idea what the fuck was being played through my earphones"

I still feel this way in 2022, except I'm using $10 Sony earbuds

Unpopular opinion, but I think this is just what Converge needed, their last couple of albums have been good (sticking with the formula that has served them so well in the past) but this is so different, I think its a welcome change, next collab should be with Aphex Twin!!

Just to circle back to the Sputnik 2011-era conversation, I joined the site in 2008 but when that Best Albums of the Decade list dropped it totally changed my musical tastes forever. As it turns out, Jane Doe is my favourite album so there's that. I was at uni from 2010 to 2012 and I just absorbed everything Sputnik threw my way back then
