Man if someone told me this was their best album full stop, even better than Pony, I would be so fucking disappointed upon hearing it. I wasn't around for the othrr Deftones releases but people have been saying that every time they release an album it's praised as their best. It'll be interesting to see how well this holds up for people in the coming weeks/months.

Same here, BigPleb. That was actually the longest time it took me to come around to a Deftones record and now it's my favorite. In my experience, albums that seem to deliver the goods immediately are usually the ones with the least longevity. Not always true, but more often than not.

the more i listen i definitely think this is one of their stronger releases. its easily one of the most consistent and one of the most interesting and creative from a songwriting standpoint, plus instrumental performance (sergio especially) and productionwise this easily ranks among the top. would still put pony above it and wrist is always gonna be my 1 but other than that this is right around the s/t for 3rd
