@lark — Descending is in the top three songs they ever made. Then there is Pneuma, invincible and 7empest, enough said. Fear Innoculum and culling voices are also terrific tracks. CCT is a brilliant and addicting interlude. The album is seamless and there isn’t a dull moment. It is at the very least right up there with lat, Maynard crafted a brilliant concept album. I don’t think his performance is at all lackluster, I cannot see why that is the case. Phenomenal band, phenomenal album. It will grow on people, just take a rip if you’re having trouble with it. It’s alienating from their old stuff but it’s a proper fucking stoner metal album.

Hell yeah agreed, you don’t have to convince me. Descending is my second favorite on this album. It’s fucking stunning. The only reason I mention hoping that they don’t just play those songs live is because they’ve already been playing them live. Definitely would be cool to see Descending and Invincible, I’m just hoping we get an incredibly different Tool setlist, completely different from any past setlist. Considering their setlist has remained so stagnant for nearly 13 years, I want a complete shake-up. Different new songs ad different old songs. Really hope they spice it up and don’t continue to play the same songs for the most part.

440+ votes and it's only been out a day, jeez. Predicting a 4 avg when all is said and done. This has firmly overtaken 10,000 Days for me now.

That’s because it’s been leaking for a week or so, right? It had a substantial amount of votes even before release.

if anything were to make me bother to upgrade my rating it would probably be the fact the drumming was decent

Chocolate Chip Trip is brilliant? Haha you people are easily pleased.
That old meme of Maynard shitting out an egg and saying it's the new Tool album and people going nuts for it is coming true!
