That really isn't calling you a retard. I was simply referring to the way you think your opinion on Maiden, specifically the Dianno era, is right and that anyone who prefers that era is wrong or a "hipster", plus the fact that just because it isn't the norm you seem to think that no Maiden fan really thinks this or Killers is the best Maiden album, which obviously isn't the case on Sput or outside of here. That was the reason for my comment. Case closed.

faenrir dude the atmosphere and aura of these first 2 were never captured again on any album that followed.....JT nailed it with his description of 'gritier' and is hands down more raw than anything that followed as well.....overall ratings don't capture the reality since most of the community on music boards such as sputnik are much younger than you and me, it was a different time back then, and im taken aback by your view on the Di'Anno albums.....i believe that the younger generation, overall, definitely prefers Bruce era because he was the frontman when they caught on, and well, he's Bruce!....a difference of 0.1 or 0.2 on the overall's should be taken as a grain of salt....we all know the mighty sput is far from textbook

Well my point wasn't really about the averages but more the average fan's point of view ;)

I don't disagree with the fact they're grittier and have a different atmosphere, as i said, musically i really like them myself. I just don't like Di'Anno's vocals on these albums. It's not because i like Bruce more (even though i do), it's just that i don't like it hehe. And as far as aura and atmosphere go, these are nowhere near somewhere in time, imo.



I'm not a big fan of the whole punk movement and music so maybe that's why...but i believe it has more to do with my own perception of it within the context of what i've listened to and what music i like overall (because i do like bands and records that are much more raw than this). But the same can be said about anyone liking/not liking any record.



Really doesn't take anything away from these albums and there's a reason why they were able to do them and get so much success.

Some guys happen to be in succesful bands, others are the reasons those bands are successful. And Di'Anno is the former...

Some people will say anything to defend an album they love, i've even read guys saying Hetfield was a great singer lol...doesn't make it true, though :p
