Supposed to see them tomorrow, completely nervous about the show getting cancelled. Which is selfish af but I would be more than willing to quarantine myself for two weeks in order to see this show

I've got tickets to the final show in Philadelphia and I'm definitely worried about it getting canceled

oh shit well they did mention last night they'll keep it going until they shut them down but by the way things are developing I wouldn't hold my breath, I think I've seen like 6 tours get cancelled just this morning and apparently all Live Nation events will follow suit

I am supposed to see them in Chicago on Sunday. Would be surprised if it still goes on at this point.

Well shit the St. Louis one is their last one, meaning it won’t get rescheduled or refunded. I was hoping they would just make the choice for me lol

I work in politics and figure risking breaching Missouri politics with the disease isn’t worth the show lol. So if anyone has a couch I can crash on when they reschedule for Chicago, it’d be much appreciated

@dmathias I work for an airline and I would feel the same way, so I am happy they rescheduled.

I still haven't given any of their albums besides this one a real, full listen. I loved this LP and I enjoy pop punk so it's kind of weird. I tried The Greatest Generation a few times but had to stop it for a various reasons in each instance. Of all the new pop punk bands out there this is the one that shows the most promise. I also really like the style that the vocalist from this band takes on Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties. Should explore both projects in more depth.

you already know this, but the greatest generation was my #1 of the decade. like a lot of records like it, perhaps it's something that hits you at certain points in your life. but even outside of that, it's just really catchy stuff with great writing. hope you find them rewarding.

you may just want to listen to the song "cigarettes & saints" if you haven't heard it. it's not on the greatest generation but is probably my favorite song of last decade.

I'm sure it's just a matter of time. I like all the vibes these guys put out. Plus they're from my area so it's sort of a hometown sin that I'm a huge pop punk fan and not a bigger proponent of their work.

I'm wondering if there's a difference between TGG and their newest stuff? I immediately loved Sister Cities so if that defined my initial expectations, maybe I'd be better off going to No Closer to Heaven next.
And I'll definitely at least check that song you rec'd one way or the other.

The Greatest Generation took a few listens, but at some point it clicked hard. It's their best album, they won't top it imo
Sister Cities is way more indie-sounding than their older stuff. First time they leaned so hard into a more depressing, melancholic vibe

Interesting. I really enjoyed that vibe, so maybe I need to look at Sister Cities as the outlier and expect something more in line with conventional pop punk for the rest of their catalog. As long as it packs emotion, I don't mind if it's musically average.

Oh, it's all definitely above average pop punk. I can't think of any other pop punk band with such dense, layered instrumentals. It actually gets pretty overwhelming at times, there are tracks off of their second album even that feel ridiculously heavy.
They've always been A-tier musicians and songwriters. Their melodies (used to be, anyway) not so obvious or immediately catchy, so it would take a few listens - but once they get stuck in your head, they stay there.
In my experience anyway. These guys are one of my favourite bands

Honestly sowing you might do well to check out both burst and decay releases. They'll give you a good intro to a lot of their best songs

yeah, Burst and Decay is seriously awesome. and it's the track that you don't expect to wow you that do.

I always thought this was just a less successful No Closer To Heaven. Sowing, I feel like that'd definitely be a more natural progression considering you like this one so much.

New song "Brakeless" is awesome. Sounds like something that would have fit right in on The Upsides or Suburbia. Soupy sounds more mature, yet youthful in his delivery. Rules
