It's really ironically a shame the first 2 tracks are so good because I now want an EP/LP of songs similar to Aftermath.

This might be a stretch, but check The Joy Formidable. Female fronted rock band with a lot of electronic textures and shit. I think their album The Big Roar is a modern classic.

Oh wow I completely forgot about the Joy Formidable. They fell so far form their debut.
|
| |
Ugh I know, debut was magic and I dunno what the hell happened afterwards.

Truly tragic with joy formidable, yes, the lead vocalists have that same ooummfphh.
A flood of Light is amazing.

I would insta-5 an album of Aftermaths

"the lead vocalists have that same ooummfphh"

One track mind bloc, as per usual

I was merely responding to the young man's comment
|

Older than you, Bloc.
But yea, you're right. But not only that.

I go by Sputnik age, not human age

Guess we both be children then.
|

Damn, I should have said "relative" Sputnik age

I'm settling on a 4 for now. I waited so long to rate it because I thought it might hit a 4.5, but it's just not quite there. I will say, it's my favorite album I've heard so far this year.

I really like this album but hardly ever feel the need to listen to it, strange.

Listen to the closer on repeat until it's all you care about.

I feel this album is greater than the sum of its parts, there are stand out tracks ('The Hollow Hour' & 'A Flood of Light' do it for me especially) but the way it flows is impeccable. Bizarre that songs as different as Aftermath & Rituals work together, that gap-less transition still floors me every time.
The production on this is outstanding as well considering all the different styles they traverse.

Yeah, the production is really crazy, because it stays consistent in that every song sounds like it belongs together even when the genres vary wildly. I do think there are standout tracks, but it definitely works best as a cohesive whole.
