The end of The Evil Has Landed is sooooo good.

That's the best tune on here by far

"I feel like this just signals the end of QOTSA, at least for me anyway."
Why would one bad album signify the end of a band for you? Plenty of bands have missteps and often times will bounce back just fine.

Because (I think) they were at their best with the first 4 albums and ever since then they've been getting worse (once again, in my opinion). I'm one of the few people that seems to like EV more than LC. Regardless, I'll always check out new material from them but I'm definitely not expecting anything good.

Like Clockwork is actually my favorite by them and I've been listening to these guys since SFTD came out. This is really their first fuck up in my eyes, so I suppose I'm still optimistic. The fan base as a whole seems to really dislike this album though (myself included) so I'm expecting them to come back with a banger of an album next time.

Yeah, I'm hoping with this one out of the way the next one will be something deeper, for lack of a better term.

Weird to see the album average hold up despite a mostly lukewarm reception.

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one

The amount of 5s here is kinda suspicious though considering I never see them in this thread

Fortress, Domesticated Animals and The Evil Has Landed are some of my fave QOTSA tracks.

I just absolutely love the jagged groove and the weird, out of place but it somehow works chorus.

This album is a midlife crisis masked under a dancey, "carefree" attitude. I think Homme needed to kick this feeling out of his system. I just hope he doesn't get swallowed up by this cool, radical, rockstar persona (he took some of Iggy Pop's attitude IMO).

How the hell has this still got such a high average lmao
Listening today for the first time in 2018, f’ckin dire

It’s near total garbage and the songs all sound like even more sluggish cuts from the slightly boring but solid ‘Clockwork’

God Is In The Radio is more of a Lanegan tune though. He's severely missing on this one. Like Nick Oliveri has been missing since he was kicked out. Homme just keeps getting rid of the guys that made this band outstanding. Feels like he's surrounding himself with yes men.
