"Load and ReLoad are two other examples of great albums that wasn't approved by the fans at all."

The first few tracks on load are fun, but there is WAYYYYY to many songs that it just falls in a heap. if they cut down it could have been a very consistent album.

Havnt heard st ang- AH! yet.
lol exept FRAN TICK TICK TICK TOCK!

MY LIFESTYLE! DETERMINES MY DEATHSTYLE!!!!!!!!!

Listening to that one song, the riffs and tuning wouldn't sound too out of place on a QOTSA album...

Naa but there is some great musical ideas on here. For example, Invisible Kid is terrible but the beginning first minute is pretty bitchin. Also some really good grooves on here too. I mean its no secret they made it this way on purpose to reflect their ongoing issues. Personally I think thats very artistic of them, but they really blew it though. I mean, the drums dont bother me, but they have one of the greatest guitarists in the world and they wouldnt even let him play solos. Fail. Major fail.

To me, the only style of guitar players that can match the technicality of some metal bands is Jazz Guitarists. You ever listen to Miles Davis' stuff with John McLauglin? That guy can fucking shred!

well that's kind of wrong. more genre's than jazz can match up to the technicality in metal ...as most of it isn't that technical! a lot of emo, post-hardcore and some hardcore bands are a lot more technical than metal guitarists just in general with what they do. ofc any math band as well.

srsly most metal guitarists aren't that technical because it's chug chug chug, solo, some harmonized guitar etc. or playing really really fast the same notes. things like thatThis Message Edited On 02.10.09

i said most metal guitarists, i was generalizing and just pointing out that metal as a whole isn't the extremely technical genre it's made out to be by metal fans.

Yeah I'd agree that the shit far outweights the good when it comes to metal guitarists.

And most guitarists in general, for that matter.

Well thats a pretty broad statement good sir if I must say so myself. Now if you want to bring up the emo and hardcore argument like you did, I always found those two genres based upon the feelings and the musicianship would take a seat behind the emotion of it all. Who can you reccommend for me in the post-hardcore world?
