It’s still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that a bunch of 20 year old kids made this record
Even as I’m pushing 30 this thing still hits hard. Timeless album tbh

And All Things Will End never got its due. Cosmic, Save Me, And All Things Will End are peak A7X imo, I hope to god they play it live someday. Hopefully before Matt’s voice is completely shot.

Also just wanna point out how wildly different all three of those songs are. These guys have taken so many big swings with their sound, tbh they’ve missed a few of them but I respect that so much.
It could’ve been so easy for them to go on autopilot after this record and just make mid metalcore for the rest of their careers like so many other bands that came up around the same time in that scene.

Definitely could have cut some of the fat here. I don't remember the last time I listened to this front to back

Good album but overrated imo, most of their albums after this are much better (don’t kill me)

I agree w the first part. This riffs undeniably hard and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed some parts. It's just too damn long and indulges in too much hard rock bullshit for my liking. If this was like 20 min shorter I'd prob 4 this. This was kind of ahead of its time tbh

Honestly, I don't know how I would rate it if I heard it for the first time today. I discovered A7X with Unholy Confession not too long before City of Evil came out. But since I have my nostalgia glasses, I find this album incredible and really important in shaping my musical taste. I agree that some of it is a bit too long though
