I wonder where they'll go from here

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i suppose the question is whether they'll double down on their atmospheric side, or even re-introduce more black metal, or go an entirely different direction
just hope adam's vocals stay the same, they are so good on this album

yeah the double layered shit on Demigod and a few others looses its novelty i.e brutality after a few plays then just sounds like shit to me. Here he clearly enunciates erry word and you can hear the anguish in his voice cutting through the harsh vocals. I guess he had a lot to be infuriated about this time round too

Been awhile since I listened but was it double layered or more than that?

the first few seconds have got to be quadruple layered but i think rest is double/triple . it's still a solid slab of metal though

Yea I like Demigod; just remembered it sounding like more than just double layering afoot.

This was real good. Reminds me of those artsy post-black bands like newer Dark Fortress a lot.

Honestly though this is easily their best just in terms of songwriting. I just have always had a special connection with Demigod, one of the first extreme metal albums I really got into.

Can't believe this is just a 4...

Sometimes I want to 5 this, just because of the huge jump in songwriting quality for the band, but also, I've heard quite a few black metal records that stomp this. I really love it all the same. I think Behemoth were the first blackened anything I got into in high school, so I owe them a lot.

Seeing them Monday and I could not be more pumped about it. Capping off a bucket list summer of A Perfect Circle -> Metallica -> Meshuggah -> Megadeth -> Iron Maiden with Behemoth and Lamb of God. Going to be tough to top '17 for me.
