this album is certainly not reinventing the wheel i think that just cuz an old favorite band of a lot of people didn't realize a purely garbage album ppl are going apeshit this really isn't amazing

I am surprised at how much this is getting hyped.

andcas thats cute and all but youd think true creative minds such as these lads would be able to keep evolving and not just sound like a generic 2013 metalcore album.

also lets not act like this band was revolutionary just because they helped originate a mostly bad genre. metalcore isnt exactly some experimental stuff. its pretty straightforward. integrity and earth crisis among others were doing their thing too back then so lets not give all the "credit" to these guys either.

basically stop making excuses for an average album.

Alright then Deadguy, Coalesce, Rorschach, Kiss it Goodbye, Cave In, Dillinger, Vision of Disorder, Poison the Well, Starkweather, Botch, Converge, Skycamefalling, etc. Shai Hulud was not prancing around by themselves.

Thats what most people in this thread seem to be saying yea. That Shai Hulud is this massive influential band that excuses them from evolving, and that since they inspired a bunch of generic bands that makes it okay for them to still sound generic.

Its like Killswitch Engage and Shadows Fall inspired alot of questionable melocore bands around today, but if Killswitch's upcoming album is still the same then it will be generic too. They arent exempt just because they helped originate a sound.

band was influential

therefore, they could never make an album that is anything less than amazing

incredible logic
