One of the most underrated artists/groups of all time in any genre imo. Death is Silent, A Piece of Strange & this album (probably my favorite) are on another level compared to the majority of hip hop made these days.
Strange Journey vol. 3 is out I recommend people check that out, lot of good guest rappers and thus far has Kno's masterful touch in terms of production and lyrics solid for the most part. Just bought it, about 2/3rd's through and first impression is I've liked every song so far, at least a few of them real bangers.
No one does it quite like CunninLynguists imo. Honestly, who do you compare them to? There is a depth, sophistication and refined style to CL that put them up there with the greats of hip-hop imho. I won't bother naming names lest people take issue with comparisons but suffice it so say I'm a fan.
Might be too emo in parts for some of the hardcore heads, but to me the melodic/musicianship qualities of this album (talking about Oneirology now) are what bring it to that next level and into near classic territory to me.
Honestly as I write this review listening to SJ 3 initial impression is it sounds close to a 4.5 as well. First listen through and it's likely no less than a 4. Cameo mc appearances make it more diverse than vol. 1 & 2.

SJ 3 might be on par with Oneirology. The latter loses it's lustre somewhat I found after my initial madman obsession of playing it to death when it came out, at least some tracks do and overall it's not an album suited for any occasion due to it's saturatingly heavy-darker vibe.
SJ3 honestly after 4 complete listens through and counting there is only 1 song on it I do not care for entirely, and believe or not *most* of the tracks I like a LOT, and it sounds lighter, more uptempo and accessible for everyday listening.
I don't hand out 4.5's like candy, but this is on par with CL's best releases imo and all of their releases tend to be strong. The J-Live track is getting multiple rewinds at the moment b/c I'm a huge fan of his flow but really I could probably do so with many other tracks on this album hence why I've listened to it 4 times through and not once felt compelled to skip a song, and that is saying something. Even usually on any other good album there's those 2 or 3 songs I simply don't care for and will skip passed.
