I see what you mean I don't really know the subgenres of electronic music either and am guilty of calling it all techno.

Dude, Jet Set Radio had a fucking great soundtrack, or at least I thought so when I was younger. Sure as shit wasn't dubstep though.

Also, addressing something a few pages back, brostep shows are fun as fuck IMO. Excision was fun as hell opening for mau5, even though his entire set was about as bro as you can get (despite him having some deeper tracks).
I've seen quite a few other brosteppers too. The only thing that I've ever really had a problem with is the fucking crowds that brostep brings around. Some miserable douche bags at those shows.
I'd way rather see someone like Youngsta or Distance of course, but that's not an option where I live.

It took me a long time to find sounds such as this enjoyable, but I'm glad I did end up enjoying it just the same.

First of all I'm pretty sure PinkDino didn't mean how can anyone like electronic music in general, he just means brostep, second of all it's electronic music not electronica, thirdly, what? how can you not know why people like electronic music? It's not alien or anything it's still music

and sorry for the sentences that make no sense im exhausted and really shouldn't be allowed to type lol

It's hard to explain, but there is a reason for everything and I tend to like to find that reason. Read the book Your Brain On Music

I get what you mean
That is always interesting

Granted I agree a bit on the "how can you not know why people like electronic music?" I mean you can give this massive scientific study/explanation and your never going to be able to definitively be able to answer why every single person who likes 'x' genre of music listens to 'x' genre. So basically it's probably just best to say they like it because they like it

I like it for the same reasons I like a lot of other stuff, because it sounds good. What a waste of fucking time
