When you jam something like Spectral Lore or Anaal Nathrak you can definitely tell it's a drum machine. I'd bet their performed by human, but who is the mystery

if you're good enough with your drum program and mixing and detail I'm sure you can make your programmed drums seem human. Junk like Anaal and Spectral either don't have access to the programs/knowledge to make better drum sound (Spectral) or do so purposefully (Anaal).

walknut is another band where obviously midi drums somewhat hinder the experience. if the drums here are programmed they did a p good job, it never really crossed my mind
