Uh, what shit exactly? This album isn't the birth of anything new
|
| |
You could argue that it could be the best so far, but nothing here is wholly original by any means. This isn't the beginning of a movement
|
| |
sure but how many albums like this really feature the same mix of spacey electronics and studio bass/sax solos, etc. its more like he just jumped off the deep end with this album. def the best i've heard too.

Well even if it's unique in that sense, my stance would be more that no one would jump off that to make an entirely new sound. It's somewhat unique but not unique enough to start a movement that would later be thought of as the place where some big musical change started.

Like I said it may be the best but nothing started here
|
| |
word. still rules though, totally could see it being regarded as a classic in 15 years barring the release of an even better album by flylo in the future

It will always be considered a really good album, and I realize I probably like this less than most, but his EP he released shortly after this did absolutely nothing for me.
I mean yeah, we'll see where he goes from here but nothing about him really points to this huge classic.
I just expect solid releases from him throughout his career.

pattern + grid world felt sort of like b-sides to me. la and this are both killer so idk i have confidence he has more greatness in him.

I hope in 15 years time people will look back with fondness at a time when Downer talked absolute nonsense....again
