most albums in the OSDM era bore me to tears, this is one of the only ones that actually catches my ear. don't get me wrong, it still had to grow on me.

we definitely have that in common, it has been a bit of a boring affair so far. i always try to remember that repeat listens change the experience

why does this dude's taste almost exactly match tundra's then, for example?
i've been here 15 years, these things become pretty easy to become suspicious of

I think they mean you lmao. In all fairness, there have been many trolls around here that have done similar things, as Ford mentioned, but I don't think NaturalLaw is a troll. I just think he's trying to get into a genre a tad out of his wheelhouse which is commendable lol.

Agreed. He could be listening to 5 Finger but instead he's here. That's a win all day.

The slam riffage in “liege of inveracity” is enough to immediately warrant a 4/5

why would people waste their time trolling? i don't understand and i don't get what about me gives off any sort of troll vibe when i try to be as respectful as i can. I never got into foundational metal like i had mentioned in previous threads. bands like
Judas Priest
Anthrax
Slayer
Metallica
Iron Maiden
Black Sabbath
Megadeath
Dio
I have already enjoyed the offshoots of death metal like Melodic and Progressive. I already had heard a bit of the band Death years ago, but me going back into the fundamental bands is something i feel is necessary to have a good idea of the progression of music in general.
outside of metal i am going back
Genesis
Camel
Peter Gabriel
David Bowie
The Rolling Stones
Al Di Meola
Led Zepplin
Supertramp
Cream
Emerson Lake and Palmer

there have been some Foundational Death Metal songs that i have enjoyed, All the albums have also been first time listens. I got exposed to mostly contemporary Metal offshoots when i first got into music with screaming. So it naturally altered my experience with the old school material. Granted i enjoyed the 4th and 5th Death album quite a lot.
i also have been asking for suggestions for music from people who have been around the block.

also keep in mind I have been part of this site since maybe 2010-2011. I had an account before but somehow i lost access or forgot the password. i made this one a few years back but it's not something i was really using to attach the full scope of my music taste. What it shows on my profile is just a fraction. I am very open minded and pretty much enjoy all genres.
if anyone on this thread has some suggestions for their all time favorite bands i am more than willing to try them out. you guys have a lot of knowledge and i would like to listen to trend setting bands instead of coattail riders
