Listening to this for the first time in ages. Why does the double bass in certain segments of various songs sound so muddled? Definitely not a fan of that particular aspect of the production.

Honestly, this doesn't hold up nearly as well as Whoracle, TJR, and Subterranean. But, still blows away anything these guys have done in the last decade.

The low end in general is very boomy on this, but I love the production for these songs. It's a massive sounding album. I'd say the weakest aspect is the ending. Resin, Insipid 2000, and The New Word are all fine, but fall flat compared to the first 2/3rds of the record.

I have to disagree with Resin. That track is easily among my top 3 off this album. The ending of the track is so epic.

The ending is definitely weaker for me as well.
In general, I think my view of their earlier albums is a little soured just because I know how bad their later stuff is. I wish it wasn't like that for me but ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yea possibly on them turning soft later on. Kiss prolly has influence on half of pop music turning into clothes shop sonic Diarrhea. A real posterboys for degreneration popular music as serious form of art. What does those bands have to do with last really good IF album? nothing.

Ok now I can’t decide if Whoracle is the superior album. What I do know is the vocals are better on Whoracle… more eager and intense.
