"the buildup from 1:30-1:55 which leads into the first chorus"
Me too man, my sister argues with me about this all the time since that's the part I show people when I want then to hear how good crAig is on this. She says there's so many other parts that show off his voice better.
theres something unique about that part. he's holding back, You can tell there's a wall off sound building up behind how frail his voice gets on certain notes. It's really hard to explain but the closer he gets to crossing that line but then pulling back is more impressive than all the crazy runs he can do

Happy 8th Anniversary to this fine album.
Lemon Meringue Tie is my favorite DGD song ever and The Backwards Pumpkin Song and It's Safe to Say You Dig the Backseat are also great. Surprise! I'm From Cuba Everyone Has One Brain has so many fucking amazing moments too.
Overall I'd say this album has only one dud and that's Strawberry Andre but it's still salvageable duh to the hook.

Then he finally hits that final note with so much... distortion? .. in his voice it almost sounds like a scream and the band gets dancy for a minute before that double bass/mess combo.
Good song. My sister can fuck off

"the chorus is also great but after it ends the song takes a huge dip and thats why it isnt my fav song overall "
Wait hold up I just realized what you're talking about
I actually really don't like the bulk of that song. I only like the ending where Jon Mess and Craig are alternating vocals. Most of that song is really boring.

sounds like you like the worst part of the song
the end of Look North is pretty aimless and sloppy, just nothing interesting really going on

bad opinions everywhere
LMT clearly has the best chorus. Can't beat da Messter's barking.
|
| |
As much as I like Mess I can't agree with that. LMT is kinda overrated
Antlion and Open Your Eyes def have the best choruses imo
|
| |
Those two and And Then I Told Them... for sure

I kinda love/hate Antillon. The chorus is catchy af but I don't care so much for the rest. But oh man when the chorus swoops back in at the end it's like orgasmic
|
| |
^Yeah forsure and I get what you mean, the chorus is probably the best part but damn what a chorus

buildup in Look North is best part of the album, the chorus is awesome though
not too big on Antlion, Jonny pushes so hard on the verse (and the section also repeats in copy/paste fashion later) that it kinda negates how hard he pushes on the hook. best he sounds on the whole track is when he actually ISNT pushing (hey is that your lady)
