I have a self-made combined version in flac done with Adobe Audition. I adjusted the second disc volume to be a bit lower so the album doesn't sound too overloaded. I could share it with you.

Au Pays Natal is one of my fav post-metal tracks of all time tbh. If the whole album had had the level that track has this would be up there with Panopticon, Oceanic, Through Silver in Blood, The eye of Every Storm, Somewhere Along the Highway...

It and Europa are definitely the best standalone tracks here, but I rarely consume just one track. The album presented as a whole is just untouchable imo.

I've said it here a billion times but personally I prefer to listen to TGS uncombined - that said I do think Absent and Itinerant benefit the most from the combined versions. Absolutely massive album.

The uncombined CD1 is still excellent but I always felt it sounds a bit anemic without the CD2, so the combined version is my prefered way to listen to this by a margin.

"Shut the hell up Art."

ha it was obviously not a serious question but i guess it rustled some jimmies there

seriously though this is really fucking good either with the drones or without them, mostly listen to this without disc 2 because i don't have a proper setup to jam them combined

Just got around buying the flac and currently mixing it. Anybody got a suggestion how much to lower drone noise volume for optimal sound balance?

Why is the Tidal version missing Europa entirely? Am I missing something?

Literally the crowning achievement of the genre, front-to-back, and I don't care whose feathers I ruffle with that statement.

Song segment of Cygnus from Cult of Luna or Dark City Dead Man live are a close tie

Yep both respectable contenders. Mouth of the Architect's "Quietly" is right there for me, too, but the end is a sliiiiiiiiiiiiiight letdown compared to that middle section.
