Best Deftones. An album that likely should have been a lot worse considering the circumstances under which it arrived, with the band abandoning Eros and starting from scratch again. But this has everything I love about them. No filler and some of their strongest tracks. The overall atmosphere is perfect. And the deluxe has Ghosts cover which just seals the deal. (Massive David Sylvian fan).

I still have trouble deciding which album is their best. Since Around The Fur is the one I played the most, while this and Ohms is on par with WP for me. Guess it depends on what mood I’m in :p

My most played are this, WP and self-titled. Self titled was the first Deftones album I heard so that one is the most loaded in terms of nostalgia and so will always be a favourite.

Really hope we see an EP of Eros at some point in the future. I know the band likes to often remind that the material on that LP was not on par with their standards, according to them, but from what we've heard of it so far it actually sounds really good (certainly better than post-KNY Tones).

I think he always could, but preferred songs that didn’t follow the verse chorus verse chorus structure. I always felt his label or producers said “it’s been ten years since white pony and chi is still in a coma, y’all need to do an album to get new fans.”
