It was a fun listen, but I can't say that I am particularly hyped about the album based on that song alone.

Can't think of anything that says "we're creatively bankrupt but we need the money" more loudly than making a sequel album to one of your 14 year old classics that never needed, nor was meant to have, a sequel.

That being said HYYYYYYYYYYYYPPPPEEEEEEEEE lets get it men

If they can still write heavy parts as good as the opening of "Lay Your Ghosts...", then I'm ready for this

Think the album is gonna Automata III but with a reference or two to the original Colors in the majority of the tracklist. Doubt they will be going back to pre-Coma levels of heaviness..... Tommy likes his cleans too much now.

The new single sounded like something from Automata II tbh, same mix and everything (near identical anyway). Colors (original) took me quite a few listens to get into so maybe this will be the same, who knows.

The thing I find extra stupid about the idea of Colors 2 is that yall have been putting out concept albums with "story lines" for the past decade...

And then you make a sequel for an album that was just a regular collection of songs

"yall have been putting out concept albums with "story lines" for the past decade..."

I added a lot of stupid nonsense to the news article that got cut out but it was something along the lines of "Fans haven't been able to make a comprehensible storyline from these so-called concept albums but apparently theres more colors in the BTBAM rainbow."

Not a big fan of the new single... sounds super forced

Much of the last three albums sounded forced at times (I wasn't that fond of any of them), but this new song sounded like they were letting loose, and having fun with the material. Still not sure how much I like the track, but it's stuck with me more than anything from the Automata albums at least. It would also be dumb to expect a direct follow-up to Colors as far as a return to the metalcore influence goes. They said that they will never play any pre-Colors material live again apart from Selkies, and it seems clear that whatever interest they have in making a sequel to Colors, will probably only be thematic at best. I am hoping that there are at least some motifs from the original that reappear though, assuming that they would sound completely different. If anything manages to leave the sort of impact that I got through tracks like White Walls and Sun of Nothing, I'll definitely be satisfied with it, regardless of which direction the album takes.
