Chino just sings random shit into the mic, it’s fine don’t worry about it

Chino also sings/screams off pitch and they'll keep that shit on the recording anyways. This is the Deftones way.

Error and Ceremony are my favourites, some good takes on the last page

Headless and Genesis are my favorites aside from Error, but Ceremony is up there too.
Damn now I feel like I need to jam this record.

I feel like this is why I love Deftones, it would not be as good otherwise.

Title track is orgasmic, and while I dig a good portion of this record, is miles ahead of anything else here, IMO. One of my all-time fave songs of theirs.

Headless transitioning into the title track is a peak album moment

Yeah I really wish they wouldn’t have made that the lead single when we have Ceremony and Genesis right here

the entire record flows very well, unlike some of the other recent records (save diamond eyes, which flows perfectly) and the overall sound is just great, terry date really makes a huge difference in their sound, especially how the vocals are mixed (not too loud/on top of the mix but very well blended, if you notice, unlike Gore and Koi No Yokan, and even parts of DE)

I think everything besides Pompeji is fuckin perfect, and even then that outro is gorgeous

Probably the most solid Deftones album imo. Genesis and Error are next level though.

After 2016's somewhat polarizing "Gore," Deftones make a triumphant return to form with 2020's "Ohms." Immediately, Stephen Carpenter's simple but effective extended-range riffs make themselves known and continue throughout the album. Frank Delgado's synths and keyboards are more prevalent than ever, making the songs on "Ohms" sound larger than life. Sergio Vega, the band's bassist at the time, has some memorable bass lines that weave around Carpenter's riffs and Moreno's vocals, especially on "Urantia," the back half of "Error," and "Radiant City."
Chino sounds as invigorated as ever, alternating between his trademark soothing and delicate vocals to his vicious and throat-tearing shrieks and screams. See "This Link Is Dead" for possibly his most powerful performance since "Bloody Cape" off of their self-titled record released nearly two decades ago. "The Spell of Mathematics" is, in my opinion, the album's highlight, showcasing where Deftones are in their ever-impressive career. There seems to be no sign of slowing.

Is there like a Deftones renaissance going on or something? Seems like every third teenager is a fan now, and not who you'd expect.
