I guess we have to separate art from the listener as well. Tough times indeed.

There's no one catch-all answer regarding separation of artist from art, there's degrees of badness to shit that might make someone question an individual (someone who got arrested on some non-violent offence is obviously not as bad as a murderer/pedophile/whatever), degrees to how much someone regrets it (someone who discusses their harmful past actions in a remorseful light versus someone who still does the shit/doesn't feel bad about it/tries to bury it/whatever), degrees to the extent of support for said bad person (are you just listening to some rip on YouTube with Adblock on versus buying albums/merch/whatever), etc.
Nobody looks cool by pulling a gotcha because someone doesn't support artist X who did something shitty that went too far but artist Y did something else shitty that didn't cross that threshold of "oh I can't forgive this", but the reality of the answer of "discussions of morality are murky and hard for fallible humans to approach consistently" isn't as punchy.
My personal view on DiSanto is that being abusive is pretty bad shit, he seems unapologetic and not likely to better himself or realize that he's being a shitty person, but Vektor already got my money years ago. While I can't really undo financially supporting him, I won't be listening to nor supporting his works in the future.
That said, art can be meaningful to people, and if it's transformative or important enough to someone, I won't knock them for still enjoying it independent of one of the numerous people involved in its creation being a bad person. I just think it's important to note that, in a lot of cases, financial support for said shitty people can enable them to continue said behaviour, be it simply a notice that the behaviour isn't so bad that they should stop or financial support for court fees when shit gets bad enough to warrant court battles.

>Cos of how shit they are?
It seemed to be especially effective when playing their album backwards and I don't think that helps their sound a lot.

...yeah, but I also think he wouldn't do it if there were reasons to not feel good about it on a personal level.
