i listened to their two EPs and it's just kinda wild to me what kind of generic music got popular off the back of Periphery making djent riffs trendy. every song is just a clean vocal build into a different generic djun crescendo.

Ear-grating slop, the production on this is complete ass. The vocals and lyrics are some of the most cringe shit I've heard. Some parts of this record are so bad it's comical.

Man I really thought Periphery would be great live, but they really sucked when I saw them earlier this year. Half the band members looked bored as shit.

That's kind of odd. I've seen them 2 times and both times they were really on point, constantly goofing off while also being really fucking tight. Spencer isn't always perfect but he usually hits all the big moments pretty convincingly. It's been a few years though, maybe they've stopped caring as much recently haha

Hell, we can go even further back then that. Fucking Black Sabbath should never have gotten popular. The electric guitar should never have been invented. Hell, maybe it all turned to shit when they made the first damn lyre. Why does music even exist?
