yes it is adr, historical significance plays a huge part in how you view and rate music, it should give it at least a .5 bump, being the album that started a 20 year phenomenon, dont you think that is why everybody, except me, rates nevermind so high, because the music is a 3 at best, but everybody under 30 gives it a 5

nostalgia certainly will influence the emotional reception and impression music leaves on someone which will ultimately influence how they rate the album, however rating an album based on "historical significance" is silly

I didn't, I was saying how ludicrous it can be I guess I proved your point to you, but 4.5 on music, bump of .5 for the history, maybe just for the fact that in 70 somebody let them record an album, can you guess how different and scary they were to the general public, and the record company suits

would you rate a bad album a 2.5 if it was influential? Going by your logic you would.

Album Rating: 5.0
not sure what you mean give an example, if it was that influential, not sure how bad it could be,
I'm just saying, obviously not well, is that certain things that start something, invent something, and change music for the better, can or should be bumped a half or so, depending on how much they changed things, because it is hard to do something the first time, after that people can just use the template for success, made by somebody else, I'll shut up now,

plenty of bad influential albums....after all its only 'our' opinions.......now using the term monumental would be a different story......but again, our opinions are not objective when deciding what is monumental and what isn't

Album Rating: 4.0
If I rated based on historical importance I'd have more than twice as many 5s
