There's so much raw energy on this one. I'd say it's like comparing Slipknot's self-titled with Volume Three. One is an incredible album because it literally sounds like nothing before it. The other is an incredible album because it feels cohesive and flows like an album should.

inb4 no I'm not comparing these two bands, just the progression of their albums.

First track I wasn't sold until the heavy ending, but a solid 3-3.5 track. Onto Siberian Kiss.

Siberian Kiss is one of the best post-hardcore songs ever written imo.

I mean, I think context is important. This record came out in 2000, in terms of 2017 this style and genre has been done a bazillion different ways but when this was released it was new and exciting.

Makes sense. I'm 4 tracks in now and this is only 3-territory so far, but hearing this in 2017 surely isn't the best context.

@ "fucking exhilarating when you’re upset about females and 16 years old"

and no, haven't been picking up on the lyrics so far just immersing into the overall vibe...usually lyrics resonate for me on 3rd listen and on

it's getting better for me as it goes...prob around a 3.5 for me as of track 6. I'll check their 2nd LP either way.
