Dammit, Black Rose Immortal soooo lacks structure. It's basically heavy passage - accoustic passage - heavy passage etc ad infinitum. good thing they stopped writing songs like this structure-wise

That's most of the songs on Orchid and this, one of my main gripes about these albums which is how unfocused and meandering they are without any real structure or cohesion in the songwriting. Just a little more focus and this'd be an easy 5

The riffs themselves are great, for granted. Good thing I'm not alone with my reservations towards the song structure.

This is more cohesive and well done than Orchid though, and every song is either great or amazing. If the dynamics and music from this was combined with the focus and restraint in the songwriting in Deliverance it'd probably be perfect
