i feel like somewhere in here really was an attempt to get big but on their own terms. I don't think they sacrificed anything, but rather took a new approach. considering we got half the album as singles with 4 of them being pop songs adds to this.



and the fact that it didn't pan out led them to s/t and sadly, their conclusion.

I remember being somewhat lukewarm towards it, not because it wasnt good but it wasnt what i expected. After more listens it snuck up on me and i will rate it higher than their early albums pre NMG

I cannot stress enough how brilliant I think 737 is. The drop is impeccably executed, the lyrics referencing every track is just such an incredible idea… tbh of the three more explosive openers they have (Grand Paradise, 737, Secret History)… I think this one’s my favorite. They really have had such an amazing track record with album openers though. All three songs are probably top 10 tracks in their discog, and I don’t think I’ve ever related to a song as much as I do Secret History.

And that’s before all fucking hell breaks loose. I almost wanna cry with how much I relate to that. The “sharpen those dead dreams” bit… Jesus Christ man. I wanna get a tattoo of it but I’m not sure exactly how to go about it. I want art to accompany it, I don’t really like word only tats. No disrespect to anyone that has one (hell, I have one) but your body is a canvas, you can get so much done and you choose… words?

I was kind of annoyed they played Cold Blooded at the final shows… they could’ve went with any track and they went with that? It’s a fine song imo but I’m so shocked and frankly was kinda upset they went with that over If I Believed in Love.
