New single is good but it's lacking... Something. Can't put my finger on it. It's a fun track though! I just hope the other tracks are a bit more fleshed out and exciting. This album was the perfect shift into a new direction, hopefully the new one does it justice.

"It Hurts" just dropped, the track following Pls Set Me On Fire, and I didn't know what to think of it at first. But a few listens later and with a bit of volume, it actually kinda bangs! It's like if the last album had a dose of Take To The Skies, it would kinda sound like these singles.

Doesn't feel like more of the same to me. It's more like it's going deeper into dance music somehow? I am not well versed in the electronic genres, but to me it seems like they're going into this direction here.
I don't like judging ES songs early on as my opinion tend to change and most of the time I end up really enjoying what they're doing. Let's see what the album as whole will bring. New ES always makes me a bit anxious

Another single dropped with Bloodshot. Mixed feelings on this again... They really went in hard with the techno influence on here, which I love, but the song in general feels very anticlimactic. Seems more filler than a single to me. Hoping the rest of the album is a bit more fleshed out than the singles they've dropped.

The chorus has zero oomph so it does land a little flat. I like elements of Bloodshot and it's better than most of The Spark IMO but similar to that album and like you said, it's wholly anticlimactic.
