seeing them again in the fall w amity is gonna be a blast. the obsiddy songs translate very well live and marcus's singing voice has honestly gotten crazy dude sounds incredible now

watching him pitch perfect rip through clarity absolutely blew me away. songs on obsidian are tough as fuck to sing and def pushed his vocal range the furthest its ever been so him arguably sounding better live is so wild lol

Clarity is probably my favorite track from Obsidian.

mines the title track. might be their best song with marcus thus far. clarity is right behind it for sure tho absolutely huge opener. echo chamber prob rounds out my top 3 that hook lives in my brain
still dont like this tho unfort but jinn is fun

hope ya dig it more than me lmao. the synths sound very different on here in a way i find deeply deeply unpalatable (like a warping sounding thing) i really do not vibe w the prod here. was so shocked at how much better theyve gotten at that
also feel like theres a lot more "nu" influence on this thing than i could ever rlly get behind lol

The intricate and poetic style of Joni Mitchell, Elliott Smith, and Bob Dylan contemporary folk. While also being a somewhat pandering (in a good way) styling of a Mount Eerie, Bill Callahan, and even to some degree Mark Kozelek post-singer/songwriter.

I actually love the production on this album, it just hits so hard in tracks like Talking Heads, Jinn, and Sleepless.

Bloodline is their best song fuck it
