Lordy. What are you hearing in this one? Growing off me hard.

Second song is now my favourite and the only song I’d even award a 4/5 for now. The BSS song is starting to irritate me, there’s nothing deeper to it.

Also the average should slip below Sad Songs imo

It is very close to a two...but then I’d have to drop my score for the debut to a 2 also as this still isn’t that bad

This getting a 2.5 is a worse slate than me awarding it a 1 in some ways - 2.5 just means it’s a total non event

The average dropping to 3.6 would be fitting, since this and Sad Songs would have the same average and are the two weakest since the debut.

My rating for this is actually closer to like 3.7 probably, especially given what I recently learned about how they changed Hairpin Turns, but can't bring myself to give a Natty album (besides the debut) lower than a 4. Just doesn't feel right. Maybe I'll find the strength.. someday...

This is my first outing with this band. The record is nice, could see it growing on me. But at the same time, it feels a bit of a slog to reach the end.

This is a ‘nice’ record, unfortunately it shows all its cards immediately & leaves very little to discover later on. Alligator is also immediate but has much more depth, maybe start there and then move forwards chronologically.

Yeah, I'll definitely give one of their more classic records a go.

Man, you're missing out on why people have been loving this band for so long. If you're already rating this album a 3... the other ones should blow you away.

Same, nightbringer. Never listened to them but about to embark on their entire discog, starting at the beginning and moving chronologically.
