The band is hinting at something on their social media and I’m hoping for new music - One of the most amazingly consistent bands out there

Orchestral greatest hits album. Reworking of “Coffee” was released and it’s beautiful
A lil disappointed that it’s not new music, but still very excited for this

Def bummed it’s not new music. I’ll listen but I don’t care for a reworked greatest hits

the new Coffee is nice, I feel like the rhythm kinda dips in and out a few times and makes it hard to follow, but all the orchestral elements are still lovely
definitely will take the original every time but a full album of orchestral stuff sounds tight

New version of Coffee is pure bliss.
One of the few band that can pull off an orchestral album and not sounds cheesy, I'm hyped.

Ugh man, gonna be the voice of dissent here. New version of Coffee is absolute ass and completely misses the critical tone of the original that specifically captures that thematically relevant ‘coffeehouse’ aesthetic. Gotta have those brush drums, man.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, ya’heard?

i mean that change in that critical tone is exactly why i like it. those coffeehouse drums are cool but im all for them sounding less similar than the originals bc uh then i could j jam the originals lol

The better question is why would anyone cover their own song twenty years later
|
| |
only thoughtful indie bands like car seat headrest and taylor swift can pull that off

"If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, ya’heard?"
why are you under the impression bands reimagining old material is fixing it, and not like... reimagining it lol. both versions can exist and be good
