Ok, so don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this album - But I'm still really confused by how much acclaim it got from folks who aren't typically into country. Like there are many other albums similar to this one and yeah, this is probably better made than average, but the way it smashed through so many musical barriers when it's not necessarily unique or anything entirely new doesn't quite make sense to me. Still, glad for the acclaim that it got (and deserves)

Oh yeah, that's what I mean though. Like it's really well done for what it is, but I'm just curious what it is that made folks go "Yeah this is the one". It connected with so many folks that normally wouldn't give pop or country a second glance, all seemingly because of how earnest it is, it appears

You know, I wondered the exact same thing. I got into it soon after it came out just by chance, and loved it. It was already my favorite album of the year and the fact that it won the grammy was so surprising even though I agreed with the selection. It's just a really solid pop album that has great lyrics and doesn't get old in the slightest.

I only listened to this since it dominated sput for like 2 weeks. My expectations were blown away and l thought it was one of the best pop albums i'd heard in ages. I thought for sure High Horse was gonna blow up since l think it's a top tier pop track
