controversy about tech death i meant. I'm not particularly against any technique...i just like good music in general, and look at the final product as whole, but sure enjoy this discussions as well
|
| |
im with u, i like good music in general
95% of the time chugs and junz are not conducive to good music, only masterful bands can make them sound interesting and not derivative
|
| |
and u may note that those bands use them sparingly

I liked how different and varied the Rivers Of Nihil sounded to me...also a certain shoegaze feel, and also a toolish progression that brings the sound a little more modern (?)...then everyone started crying about chugs and junz, but the fact is that the album is well rated.
|
| |
i mean i didnt listen to it i was just speaking in general terms altho the incessant comparisons to fallujah and contortionist definitely painted that picture

The smart ones cried about the shoehorned prog-schtick and god awful drum tone sullying any modicum of lasting flavour the album tried to muster.
