I know, right? And it's not that I dislike it (3.5 ain't shabby) I'm just not seeing the hype that has it so high on the 2017 charts. Who knows, maybe with more time... (even though it doesn't feel like a grower)

Its basically the status-quo pop punk formula with a "hey look we're all too old to be doing this still" twist. It still rules tho!

This was me for several months but after a handful of listens it clicked exceptionally hard & I haven't been able to get these hooks out of my head since

There are a good deal of die-hard Menzingers fans who have been on this site for years too.

That really surprises me Sowing, I thought this would be so your thing. But, as you say, a 3.5 aint shabby.

I'd certainly advocate you trying On the Impossible Past; does what this does, just significantly better imho

I feel like a lot of the reason i like this as much as i do is because of the context. Not the best starting point.

Context didn't even matter for me. This was just too catchy and fun for me to deny. Only other Menzingers I've heard is OTIP.

I've heard their last three and frankly I've never understood the praise OTIP gets. This is way better than their average work imo.

Disagreed, this has much less interesting instrumentation and songwriting ideas compared to OTIP. Its a 4 because of its sheer catchiness and awesome lyrics.

The context is def important. This is at a 4.1 for the same reasons Science Fiction is at a 4.2.

I gave OTIP and Rented World a quick listen after falling in love with this and I remember being struck by some moments, but it wasn't as immediately hooky as this -- not saying this is better, just that this grabbed me more immediately

I was incredibly heavy into rented world when this came out, so i didnt really like it for a while because all i wanted to listen to was rented world. since then ive spun this more and more and it rules

Rented World is amazing though. And so is this. And so is OtIP and Chamberlain. Man, I love this band.
